There is an old diamond buying expression to summarize purchasing a diamond, "If you don't trust yourself, trust your jeweler." It has been fun creating this website, but what it has taught me is that I cannot condense 46 years of experience and education both learning the easy way (by books and by mentors) but also by making mistakes and learning the expensive way. I have tried to make this entertaining and educational and I hope that I have at least highlighted some of the craters that you can avoid as you drive down the diamond buying road. I will try, as time permits, to answer any emails I receive on this website and guide you towards making a wise purchase.
When I would mess up as a kid, my dad would console me by saying, "It's not your life and it's not your wife". If you mess up buying a diamond, it's probably only money and if your partner is understanding, it too, will not be your life or your wife. Happy hunting.
